
We offer different types of courses to the general public. Courses are done in English or Maltese language. They are done at regular intervals according to the demand. If you would like more information about or to apply for a particular course you can contact us through our contact details. We do offer course in house at our premises or at the clients premises. We cater both for individuals and for institutions. If you have any particular requests don't hesitate, we will try to match your needs.
The courses offered are as follows:
1. Basic First Aid Course
Following the latest European resuscitation guidelines, this course teaches the participant basic first aid so as to become a first aider. The course is 14 hours long split into several small sessions. The instructor to student ration is 1:15. Assistant instructors will also be present to assist the course. The course is a must for those persons seeking a recognized certificate in first aid and CPR. The course is recognized by the European Red Cross and Red Crescent centre for firs aid education and by the Malta health and safety authority. In fact this course is need for those individuals that are appointed as first aiders at the workplace as described in the health and safety act. A certificate is given at the end of the course provide that the participant fulfills al l training requirements. Main modules covered in the course include but not limited to:
- Acting at an emergency
- Breathing and cardiac problems
- Unconsciousness
- Wounds and bleedings
- Muscoskeletal injuries
- Burns
- Environmental emergencies
- Marine life injuries
2. AED and CPR course
Following latest guidelines this course teaches lay persons the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The course follows the guideline of the European Resuscitation council. AEDs are a life saver and they can make a difference if a person suffers from sudden cardiac arrest. Course duration is 6 hours. A certificate will be given at the end of the course

3. Advanced First Aid Course - First Responder
This course is aid for those persons who want to go beyond the level of a basic first aider. It covers resuscitation with the used of specialized equipment, more advanced first aid methods, stretcher handling, spinal immobilization etc. Course duration is 40 hours. Course is divided in modules as below:
Module 1: Preparatory
Introduction ,The Well-Being of the First Aider, Legal and Ethical Issues, The Human Body, Lifting and Moving
Module 2: Airway
Airway management, Suctioning, ,Use of artificial airways, Use of oxygen (fixed and portable), Assisting ventilations - bag valve mask
Module 3: Patient Assessment
Patient Assessment , baseline and vital signs - ( Blood pressure, etc), Recovery position
Module 4: Circulation
Cardiac problems (angina and heat attacks) , CPR, Use of AED
Module 5: Illness and Injury
Medical Emergencies , Bleeding and Soft Tissue Injuries (chest, abdominal, shock etc), Injuries to Muscles and Bones including spinal injury, (use of splints, vacuum splints and spine board, collars etc)
Module 6: Childbirth and Children
Childbirth, Infants and Children specific conditions, CPR
Module 7: Environmental emergencies
Poisoning, Drowning, Heat emergencies, Cold emergencies, Drowning, Burns
4. Basic Life Support with Oxygen Administration
This course covers basic life support with the use of artificial airways and oxygen administration. It is divided into the following modules:
- 1. Unconsciousness
- 2. Approaching a scene / casualty
- 3. Response
- 4. Airway
- 5. Breathing (including oxygen administration)
This course is a must for those persons who want to go beyond the level basic first aid but do not have the time to do the whole advanced course. A certificate is given at the end of the course.
