Rope Rescue Techniques at Freeport

On 5 March, a group of three SART Instructors and a SART basic volunteer from the Malta Red Cross Gozo Branch demonstrated some rescue techniques at the Malta Freeport. The SART Instructors are Mr Etienne Micallef, Mr Mario Saliba and Mr Anthony Grech and the SART basic volunteer is Mr Emerson Grech.
These techniques will then be shown to a number of operators at the Malta Freeport so they will use them when another operator accidentally falls off a stucture and remains attached with a safety rope metres above the ground or sea. The operator will be intructed the proper way how to lift safely, without any eccess force, his collegue back in the structure again.
