Two day CBRN Course in Gozo

Malta Red Cross Gozo Branch.

A two day introductory CBRN course was held at the Malta Red Cross headquarters in Xewkija. CBRN is an area of speciality in rescue operations that caters for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazards in industry or terrorist attacks.

The course was delivered successfully by Maresciallo Croce Rossa Italiana Carlo G Fornito, a CBRN Master Instructor of the Italian Military Red Cross.

The course was open for two Civil Protection Department personnel, two nurses from the Gozo General Hospital and volunteers of the Malta Red Cross. This is just the introduction to a two week CBRN intensive course that the CPD personnel, Gozo Gerenal Hospital Nurses and three Malta Red Cross Gozo Branch volunteers will do in Rome in May.

Special thanks goes to Dott Stagno d'Alcontres, President of the Sicilian Red Cross, who made this course possible. This is the first step for new openings between the Malta Red Cross Gozo Branch and Sicilian Red Cross.
